Great Lakes College
Our working week finished with another session coaching the college team. ‘Footballgate’ at Kirima meant that we arrived late, but we needn’t have worried. As the previous session with the college team had started an hour and a half after we had planned, we made it clear then that if they did the same again, we won’t stay around any longer than the scheduled training time. We said that we would leave at six, so if they arrived at half five, they would only train for half an hour, instead of the couple of hours we had planned for. This time was an improvement – the session only started an hour and a quarter late, so some tangible progress had been made! A phrase commonly heard amongst the volunteers was “T.I.A.” – This is Africa!!
