On Friday afternoon we coached the team from the local college, Great Lakes, which went really well. They asked us if it would be possible to fit them into our timetable and work with them more regularly while we’re here. We were happy to oblige as it’s great for our coaching, working with different age groups and abilities. The only annoyance was that the session was due to start at 3.00, meaning we had to leave school early to get there and set up. So when it finally got underway at 4.30 we were understandably pretty frustrated – it seems so inefficient, arranging for something to take place at a given time but then having to sit around and wait. However, we soon realised that Africa Time takes precedence over Greenwich Mean Time, something we sticklers for punctuality would have to learn to accept, even if never becoming fully enamoured with!
